Ok. So it's not totally secret, but until recently it wasn’t signposted, and even now it is, not that many people find it, or make the effort to (why would you when the rest of Calella's beaches are so lovely).

Down some steps, round a rocky headland, through an archway...

Spain Beaches - Cala El Golfet - How Do You Find The Secret Beach

Cala El Golfet is 1.5 km out of the town of Calella de Palafrugell.

Drive out of the town on Avinguda de la Costa Daurada, take a left on Carrer del Golfet, then another left on Carrer del Cap Planes. There are parking places along this road

A small sign for the beach will take you down a flight of steps.

Car:

Zoom in on Palafrugell and then on Calella de Palafrugell on the map below to see the numbers and names of the roads. The nearest motorway is the AP7.

Bus:

You can also get here by bus from Palafrugell. To get to Palafrugell you can catch a bus from Flaca, Girona and Barcelona. Please see sarfa.com for details.

Train:

The nearest train station is Flaca (25km away).

Please see renfe.es for details (you have to click on the 'find all stations' button and manually find Flaca, as for some reason the website doesn't list it in the drop down menu).

Plane:

The nearest Costa Brava airport is Girona Airport (45 km away). Check out flights at Ryanair.

The next closest Costa Brava airport is Barcelona Airport (120km away). Check out Easy Jet for flights.
