Long Term Rental Costa Brava
Renting A House 6 Months Or More

by Kim Yorke
(UK - Dorset)

We are moving to this beautiful place very soon but I am thinking about renting for about 6 months so I can find my new home, do you know any companies who could help in renting for 6 months plus?

Kind regards
Kim Yorke

Hi Kim

That is a very good decision :o)

Here is a list of some websites offering long term lets on the Costa Brava. I’m not sure what area you are particularly looking at, but hopefully you’ll find something useful in all of these.

Long Term Rental Costa Brava:

Good luck for your move.

We’d love to hear how you get on (perhaps we could interview you for the new section we are planning for our website on expats on the Costa Brava).

Best wishes

Imogen

Retire to Costa Brava?
by: Real Costa Brava Team

In response to Diane and Tony's query about retiring to the Costa Brava....

The average temperature for Barcelona and the rest of the Costa Brava in July and August is 24 degrees centigrade but it can get up to 27.5. That is the norm but we have experienced it hotter than 27.5 on the Costa Brava. For more information take a look at our Climate Costa Brava page.

You mentioned in an earlier post that you like the idea of retiring to Alicante too. So you can compare, the average temperature for Alicante in July and August is 26 degrees centigrade but can it get up to 31.

Take a look at the links of the Costa Brava rental agencies above. You might also find this page useful Best Town For Year Round Living on the Costa Brava.

Good luck with your move!

Move To Costa Brava
by: Diane & Tony Griffith

Can anyone tell us if there is any area in Spain that does not get as hot as other areas in July & August?

We like the Alicante region, but would consider somewhere else if it is cooler in summer.

We are flying from Larnaca, Cyprus to Barcelona on 20th August intending to travel down the coast to see what the temperatures are like. And to see if there is any difference between Barcelona and Alicante, if we get that far...

We fly back to Cyprus 30th August, hopefully we will have an idea of an area we feel comfortable in, so we can look for somewhere to rent with our little poodle for a while, so we can look for a villa to buy.

Any advice, or help in any way would be greatly appreciated.

Retire to Costa Brava?
by: Diane & Tony Griffith

We are in our early 70's but still quite fit :-)

We retired to live in Cyprus 11 years ago but now we find July & August far too hot! So we are thinking of moving to Spain and have been trying to find an area with the most temperate climate.

It's a big move for us to sell our villa here and bring our little very well behaved Cyprus poodle who is almost 11 years old.

Can anybody help us with advice regarding a suitable area to look for a property to rent for some time while we look around for somewhere to buy. One level, 2 beds 2 baths & use of pool. :-)
