by Andy Lowe
(England)

We are looking to bring a small motor boat (5.5 mtrs) to the Costa Brava next August and we are looking for somewhere to moor it.

We know of Estartit but it very expensive, do you know of any alternatives.

Regards

Hi Andy

Thanks for contacting us.

There are several harbours/marinas on the Costa Brava (some are very good and have been given Blue Flag status), but unfortunately none of them are cheap.

Here is a list of the Costa Brava marinas and their daily mooring costs for boats under 6 metres in the high season:

Port de Port Bou - 24.43 €

Port de Llanca - 39.71 €

Port de Port de la Selva - 44.04 €

Port Roses - 33.63 €

Port Santa Margarida (is managed by Port Roses) - 33.63 €

Marina Empuriabrava - 27.13 €

Port L’Escala - 38.92 €

Port L’Estatit - 37.28 €

Port Llafranc - They do not provide mooring costs on their website so you will have to either contact them via the contact form on their website or call them on 972 300 754. I have now had a chance to speak to them and unfortunately they are fully booked all summer in 2013.

Marina Palamos - 47.66 €

Port D’Aro - They do not offer a daily mooring in the high season.

Port Sant Feliu de Guixols - 36.61 €

Port de Canyelles, Lloret de Mar - They do not provide mooring costs on their website so you will have to either contact them via the contact form on their website or call them on 972 368 818

For day trips it is possible to moor your boat for a small charge on visitor buoys or on dingy pontoons in a few coves along the Costa Brava coast - for example Sa Tuna, Aiguafreda, Sa Riera, Cala Montjoi. For information on Costa Brava mooring buoy fields, marinas and anchorages, take a look at Barcelona Sailing Schools advice.

Hope this information has been useful.

Have a lovely holiday.

by: Keith

Andy. I too will be taking a 5.5 metre motor boat out at the end of August.

Did you find anywhere to moor your boat for a reasonable price?

Regards
